Extended Public Drop Off Hours At Tynes Bay
Effective on Monday, July 16, the public drop off hours at Tynes Bay Waste-to-Energy Facility will be extended.
A Government spokesperson said that Minister of Public Works Lt/Col David A Burch today “confirmed that effective July 16, the public drop off hours at Tynes Bay Waste-to-Energy Facility will be extended.
“Effective Monday, July 16, the new extended hours will be:
- 7.00 am – 7.00 pm: Monday to Sunday
- 9.00 am – 12.00 pm on Public Holidays
- Closed Christmas Day
In recent comments, Minister Burch said, “We have seen a steady increase of those using the public drop off since the extension of Tynes Bay’s operating hours. I have asked the plant manager to explore the feasibility of further extending the Tynes Bay drop off hours to make it even more convenient for the public.”
“On July 16, the public will now have the benefit of expanded waste drop off hours at Tynes Bay seven days a week.”
They can spend $137,000 on first class travel and $4m on an office building for private companies, but they can’t pick up trash.
well your party spent $76 million plus on a race for country club boys millionaires…
That race made a lot of money for this island which the PLP will not admit even though the figures are there.
this is the new trashtech or is it rattech?
Whilst I applaud the additional opening hours I would like to see a cost v benefit comparison of the one extra day’s garbage pickup versus the overtime paid to the Tynes Bay workers assuming that the garbage collectors aren’t receiving OT benefits now. I still don’t understand why the Tynes Bay operation needs to be manned whenever its open. Surely with the security cameras etc. it can be opened without the requirement of staff during out of regular hours? Can someone explain to be the rationale?
First step towards no trash collection im sure…
Obviously the collectors who are now on part time with only 1 pick up per week will be at Tynes Bay to assist with the traffic chaos and unloading
